  • Features may change without notice
  • Data structures may be refactored
  • Bot may experience downtime
  • Bugs and unexpected behavior may occur
  • No service level agreement (SLA) is provided

No Warranties

Project Automod provides no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Non-infringement
  • Accuracy of moderation decisions
  • Availability or uptime

Users accept all risks associated with using this service.

Eligibility & Platform Dependency

Discord Platform Requirement

Project Automod operates exclusively on Discord's platform and is subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Users must:

  • Have a valid Discord account
  • Comply with Discord's Terms of Service
  • Comply with Discord's Community Guidelines
  • Be of minimum age required by Discord (13+ or 16+ depending on region)

Platform Changes

If Discord modifies its API, policies, or platform in ways that affect Project Automod's functionality, the service may change or terminate without liability.

Guild Ownership

Guild administrators using Project Automod must:

  • Have legitimate authority over the Discord guild
  • Have permission to add bots to the guild
  • Be responsible for configuration choices made

Role Hierarchy Limitations

Discord Permission System

Project Automod operates within Discord's role hierarchy. The bot cannot:

  • Moderate users with roles higher than the bot's highest role
  • Bypass Discord's permission system
  • Override guild owner permissions
  • Act on users with Administrator permission if bot lacks equivalent access

Configuration Responsibility

Guild administrators are responsible for:

  • Positioning the bot's role appropriately in the guild hierarchy
  • Granting necessary permissions to the bot
  • Understanding that misconfigurations may prevent moderation actions

Project Automod is not liable for failed moderation actions due to role hierarchy or permission issues.

AI Limitations

EatherAI Experimental Status

The EatherAI subsystem is experimental and operates with the following limitations:

Rate Limits:

  • 20 requests per user per hour (standard users)
  • Superusers are exempt from rate limits
  • Daily token budget: 1,000,000 tokens globally
  • When budget is exceeded, AI becomes temporarily unavailable

Accuracy:

  • AI responses may contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information
  • AI does not have real-time access to external information
  • AI operates on knowledge base current as of training data cutoff
  • AI may misunderstand questions or provide irrelevant answers

Privacy:

  • All AI interactions are logged (see Privacy Policy)
  • Prompts and responses are stored indefinitely
  • AI memory is ephemeral and cleared after inactivity

Non-Autonomy:

  • AI does not autonomously issue bans, kicks, warnings, or moderation actions
  • AI does not make decisions on behalf of users
  • AI is assistive only; users must take manual actions

Refusals:

  • AI refuses political debate
  • AI refuses user profiling
  • AI refuses requests outside its documented capabilities
  • AI refuses requests to bypass safety guardrails

Users acknowledge:

  • AI responses are suggestions, not authoritative rulings
  • Users are responsible for verifying AI-provided information
  • Project Automod is not liable for decisions made based on AI responses
